This academic school year was the first in which we hosted a Mr. Burgundy and Grey Pageant and it was a success! Aside from providing a scholarship for the male participants, we were able to raise a whopping $1600 for our national philanthropy, St. Jude’s.
The pageant consisted of various rounds, each centralized on a different topic. These categories show cased the contestants’ talents as well as what they have learned in the process of preparing for this event. They partnered up with a sick child an their family and learned about their illness and background. Aside from striking a cord, we hoped this portion of the event would educate the audience and participants on various form of cancer and how exactly St. Jude’s helps.
With the love and support of our local community, peers, friends and family, we were able to send a large donation to St. Jude’s to help them cover medical costs for children. We thank everyone who took part in this event either as an audience or to help execute it and know that the success of this event will only grow in our second year.
