Holiday Fun Day

Entry Drop-Off Time: 1:45 – 2:00 PM

Get ready for a festive and fun-filled Holiday Fun Day! The excitement kicks off with entry setup from 1:45 to 2:00 PM, and the judging begins at 2:00 PM. While the entries are being judged, there will be plenty of youth activities to keep everyone entertained.

Admission: Non-Perishable Food Items for the Food Bank of Delaware 

Holiday Fun Day Categories:

The competition is open to both individual and group entries (group entries will be judged in the oldest group member’s age division)

Gingerbread House (houses must be constructed from gingerbread):

• Decorated House (No Outside Scene): Your gingerbread house should stand alone without any outside decorations extending beyond the house, except for icing or coconut ground cover. The base should be no larger than 12” x 12”.
• Decorated House with an Outside Scene: Create a holiday scene around your gingerbread house! The base should be no larger than 12” x 12”, and all decorations must be edible.

Wreath/Wall Hanging:

• Design a wreath/wall hanging with a Christmas Holiday theme. You can use any materials you like—just let your imagination take the lead!

Christmas Card Contest:

• Create a Christmas card for one of the Delaware State Fair categories:
  • D-76: Computer-Generated Greeting Card
  • E-112: Rubber Stamped Art
  • E-115: Delaware 4-H Foundation Christmas Holiday Greeting Card

Set of Six Different Ornaments:

• Enter a set of 6 different handmade Christmas ornaments, refrigerator magnets, or tray favors.

Age Divisions (As of January 1, 2026):

• Cloverbuds (5-7)
• Beginners (8-10)
• Juniors (11-13)
• Seniors (14-19)

Community Service Opportunity: Non-Parishable Food items for the Food Bank of Delaware

Most needed items:

• Canned meats
• Peanut butter & jelly
• Canned soups (hardy)
• Rice
• Oatmeal and cereal
• Shelf-stable milk
• Canned fruits/vegetables
• Snack items like granola bars, fruit snacks, apple sauce, and microwave popcorn 
• Boxed macaroni and cheese
• Diapers
• Formula
