Favorite Foods Contest Results
March 1st was an exciting day for Kent County 4-H, with 56 youths preparing food dishes for the 2025 Favorite Foods Contest. The event was held at the New Castle Building at the Delaware State Fair. Through this contest, participants not only make fabulous food items in the categories of Appetizers, Breads, International Dishes (Mexican), Main Dishes, Side Dishes, and Desserts, but they also learn how to prepare a table setting, write a recipe correctly, and write a menu. The 4-Hers also used their presentation and communication skills during the interviews with their judge. It was an outstanding day to showcase our 4-H Youth in the foods project area. We would like to thank our judges for their time and expertise working with these youths during the day. We would also like to thank the volunteers who assisted with the event: Leader’s Committee: Sandy Reynolds, Meredith Abbate, Mary Brown, Mindy Wieber and Liz Mucha.
