Kent County 4-H Favorite Foods Contest
Date: Saturday, March 1
Location: New Castle Building, Delaware State Fairgrounds
Calling all Kent County 4-H members! Show off your culinary skills by entering the 2025 Favorite Foods Contest. Participants will prepare a dish, design a creative table setting, and present their creations to the judge. For the latest updates and detailed rules, please review the Favorite Foods Contest Guidelines attached below.
Contest Categories
- Appetizers
- Breads
- Cupcakes, Cookies, or Brownies (Cloverbuds and Beginners ONLY)
- Desserts
- International Dish: Mexican
- Main Dish
- Side Dish
How to Participate
- Select a favorite recipe to prepare for the contest.
- Complete the entry form (all three pages), including:
- Your recipe.
- A meal plan featuring the prepared dish.
- Submit your entry form by the deadline of February 7, 2025. No Late Entries will be accepted.
Important Notes:
- Entry forms are attached to this post and available as fillable forms on the State 4-H Website.
- Photos of the application will not be accepted.
Event Details
- Participants will receive a scheduled arrival time after registering.
- Food safety is essential! Make plans to keep cold foods cold and hot foods hot during the event.
Eligibility
- Open to active Kent County 4-H members only.
- Cloverbuds may participate but are limited to the Cookies, Cupcakes, or Brownies category.
Favorite Foods Training – January 30, 2025

- At least 5 registrations are required to run the training
- Please bring your recipe with you
- We will go over your recipe, menu planning, and table setting.
The Kent County 4-H Food Judging Contest will also take place simultaneously in the New Castle Building at the Delaware State Fairgrounds on March 1st.
