Now is the perfect time to dive in and start selecting a topic for your speech! This is your chance to share something you’re passionate about, so choose a subject that’s meaningful and exciting to you. Remember, this is a public speaking contest, not a demonstration, so no posters or props are needed—just your voice and ideas. You have plenty of time to craft and refine your speech, so take the opportunity to explore topics that connect with your 4-H projects, pets, school activities, or important community issues. Your speech can be lighthearted, serious, or emotional, but it should always be informative. Speeches will be evaluated on how well you organize your thoughts, your communication skills, and your connection with the audience. Each participant is expected to write their own speech, making it truly personal. Be sure to check out the Public Speaking General Rules and Entry Form linked below for all the details.
