Westville 4-H Club
Reporter: Gianna Keen

This December, Westville had a very fun and enjoyable meeting. We started off our meeting talking about Wreaths Across America. We sold as a club 263 wreaths, but one of our members, Kenedy Barret, was our highest seller at 70 wreaths. She will speak at the wreath-laying ceremony for Mt. Olive Cemetary. Then we talked about how some members decorated the Dover Place Nursing home for the holidays, they wrote us a nice note thanking us from the residents and invited us to come back soon. Then Mrs. Coverdale presented our members with the 4H Blue Ribbon Seal for Westville and Heritage 4-H and added them to our club charters. We celebrated our accomplishments and both clubs come as one. Westville 4H also expressed our great appreciation for Mrs. Coverdale as our leader, and we could not have our club without her. Westville began prepping for next month’s Public Speaking; we are excited for all of our Cloverbud members to speak for the first time! To end off our December meeting, we had a gift exchange, snack, and socialize with our friends.

Peach Blossom 4-H Club

The Peach Blossom 4-H Club has been very busy this month! We had our monthly meeting on December 6 at the Delaware State Fair’s New Castle Building. The theme was to come dressed to celebrate your favorite holiday. Thanksgiving, Cinco De Mayo, Halloween, and Christmas were all well represented. We had our first “Candy Cane Olympics” and a fun time was had by all! Peach Blossom recently volunteered for Wreaths Across America, where one of our former members, Brenna Geidel, was asked to lay the U.S. Navy Wreath at Hopkins Cemetery. We had many volunteers at cemeteries all over Delaware. We were also able to participate in the ringing of the red kettle bell for the Salvation Army at Redners and Walmart in Camden. Lots of money was raised, and everyone had a good time. Happy holidays and safe travels from Peach Blossom.
