Westville 4-H Club

This month Westville 4-H was busy. Members volunteer monthly at the Food Bank of Delaware to pack food boxes. Westville placed 3rd with our window display! Then we had several members attend the Great Pumpkin Day in Harrington and had a great time. They even placed in the costume contest. Westville members also went on an educational tour at TA farms to learn about raising animals, the difference between toms and hens, and how they are processed to get to our tables.

This month we were finishing planning our Christmas parade float, and we were talking about Trim-A-Tree. The group met several times to work on Trim-A-Tree ornaments and to start prepping our float for parade season! Westville members also had their first archery meeting, and a group of members completed their archery safety certification.

Peach Blossom 4-H Club

The Peach Blossom 4-H Club has been very busy this month! We had our monthly meeting on November 1. The theme was camo and was well attended by many members! Mr. Doug Poore from the Greater Harrington Historical Society came to talk about Wreaths Across America, and we learned how our club can help the organization. Our club was hard at work preparing for Family Night. Our woodworking and dairy groups teamed up to build 4-H-themed cornhole boards for the live auction portion of the evening. They were auctioned off for over $300! So many 4-H’ers and guests came, and a fun time was had by all! There were very successful live and silent auctions, and we would like to thank J.T. Robbins for his auctioneering skills. Peach Blossom had a very busy month, and we’re excited to see what next month will bring! Happy Thanksgiving!
