The Mid-state 4-H club was held and led by Vice President/ Healthy Living Officer-Sydney Hall, Secretary/Reporter- Jada Cruz, and Treasurer- Trent Hall. Sydney led us in our healthy living activity, where we did exercises based on a dice activity. After we went over the agenda and monthly updates led by Ms.Bell, we participated in making a fall pumpkin decoration, woodworking, and for the community service, we filled up bags of cat food for the SPCA.

We are looking forward to participating in the Great Pumpkin Day at the end of the month and decorating our tree for Trim-a-Tree.

Peach Blossom 4-H has had a busy month! We weren’t able to fit all of our members in the 4-H shed, so the October meeting was held at the New Castle Building on the fairgrounds. Everyone loved it! Our Archery, Fair Prep, and Horticulture Project Groups got ready for Halloween by shooting pumpkins, making wreaths, and painting gourds and pumpkins for Great Pumpkin Day. The Woodworking Project Group made napkin holders at a new location: The Stevenson’s Wood Shop! Life Smarts, a new group, had its first meeting. We talked about credit, and it was a big hit! Some of our members also volunteered at the Food Bank. They packed 496 backpack meals in less than two hours! Our club will be at Lake Forest High School for their Haunted Hallways event on October 31 from 5:00-7:00. We are looking forward to it and all the other many project group meetings to come. Happy Halloween!

Westville 4-H Club News

Westville 4-H started off our monthly meeting with The Blanket Game. This game was played by two people holding up a blanket, and there was one person on both sides of the blanket; when the blanket was dropped, you had to guess the person’s name on the other side. This game was used to help us remember everyone’s names. Then, when we started our meeting, we discussed Wreaths Across America, the Achievement Banquet, and our Diamond Clover applications. We discussed different ideas for the Christmas float and Trim A Tree. After the meeting was dismissed, we signed up for different 4-H activities we could do, like Horticulture, Photography, Archery, fixing the flag pole at our local cemetery, and signing up each month to work at the food bank.
