Past Events
November is here everyone! The month where we eat all the turkey we want! On that note, Westville had some pretty cool events taking place. On October 24th was Great Pumpkin Day! All the kids had a great time and one of our members Caroline Allen got 1st place with her pumpkin. The event went extremely well and everything turned out great. Another event that recently took place was the trash clean-up at Killens Pond on November 6th, which I participated in. We ended up getting a bucket full of trash filled and some really pretty scenery while we walked. The month of November was a success!
New Events
Although November just started, December is right around the corner, this also means that Christmas is practically here as well! We have tons of ideas and have recently just started to work on them. Our Trim-A-Tree this year was a hunting theme and we have created some adorable ornaments and are excited to see the tree when it is all finished. We are also preparing for the parade which will be on December 3rd this year. The theme this year is “The Joy of Christmas’’, we also have great plans for our float and are ready to get into the Christmas spirit! And last but certainly not least, our club is helping out with the Salvation Army this year at Redner’s on December 4th. We will be collecting donations for the Salvation Army. There are multiple other events I could talk about but I’ll save that for next time.
Kent County Jr. Council Club News November 2021

Kent County Jr. Council held its fourth meeting of the year on November 16th. We started by going over upcoming deadlines including Diamond Clover intents (Dec 1), National 4-H Youth Summit on Healthy Living (Dec 1), and National 4-H Youth Summit on Agri-Science (Dec 15). The deadlines for community service opportunities are December 11th for the Teddy Bear drive and December 5th for Code Purple donations. We encourage youth ages 8-18 to sign up and participate in the Youth Challenge: Chipotle Sustainability Challenge for a chance to create a more sustainable food system and get implementation funding with a possible 1k+ cash prize if the challenge is won. We encourage more people to come and join us at our next meeting!
