Operation Christmas Child is an organization who sends boxes of goods to children in need all over the world. Groups of all sizes collect items from their communities to be put into shoeboxes. Thousands of volunteers serve annually inspecting and preparing shoeboxes for international shipping to 100 different countries. Delaware 4-H has been collecting items for Operation Christmas Child. Each month, there will be different items for 4-H members to donate. Please turn these items into your club leaders and they will see that the items are received by the county 4-H office. In late October and early November, Delaware 4-H will pack the donated items into shoeboxes to be donated to Operation Christmas Child. There may also be an opportunity for 4-H members 13 years and older and adults to travel to a packing facility in Maryland to help inspect and sort boxes to be sent all over the world!
Sussex 4-H will be organizing the Operation Christmas Child Project again this year. Each month will center around a specific theme. If your club organizes a collection, please contact Caroline to make arrangements to drop it off at the Kent County 4-H Office.
Let’s show the world how much Delaware 4-H cares!
