Dear 4-H Families:
As communicated in our letter emailed to all 4-H families on July 1, 2020, due to the current in-person restriction for 4-H programming that is in place through July 31st, we will not be able to have actual 4-H exhibits brought to the 4-H building this year to be judged and on display. This decision was made out of an abundance of care and with the priority of protecting the health and safety of the participants, families, volunteers, and staff. As we also shared in our correspondence, the Delaware State Fair has a virtual exhibit software that will allow us to have our youth continue to be able to share and exhibit their 4-H project work, and have the ability to participate in the exhibit premium system. Even though it will be different for us to do, we are very fortunate to have the ability and opportunity to use this system for our youth. We have attached three documents to assist you in uploading your exhibits in the Delaware State Fair Virtual system. These documents include:
1. Overview of Virtual Showcase process with the exhibit upload due date, photograph file naming suggestions, tips on taking good photographs and contact information.
2. Instructions to use in accessing your Delaware State Fair exhibit account and uploading photograph and videos into the Virtual Showcase system
3. Guidelines on how to present your exhibit in the Virtual Showcase with explanations of the photograph and video requirements to upload for the various classes of exhibits in the 4-H premium system.
This document also provides information on exhibit classes that will not be available to enter in the virtual showcase system as well as any special requirements for certain exhibit entries.
NOTE: Uploads to the Virtual Showcase system can begin on Friday, July 10th.
This is definitely a different process for us to use this year, but we are very fortunate to still have this opportunity to present our exhibits in this manner so our 4-H youth can still have the ability to showcase their 4-H project work and participate in the exhibit premium system.
