Bill Farquhar, currently a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology & Applied Physiology at the University of Delaware was recently inducted into the National Academy of Kinesiology.  He is also a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and member of the American Physiological Society.

Dr. Farquhar’s research focuses on cardiovascular health as it relates to diet and exercise, with support from the National Institutes of Health since 2003. He is currently leading two NIH RO1 projects investigating dietary sodium and vascular health, and dietary sodium and blood pressure reactivity.

Dr. Farquhar served as chair of the Department of Kinesiology & Applied Physiology from 2011 – 2017 at the University of Delaware, and is currently chair of the University of Delaware Institutional Review Board.

Dr. Farquhar teaches Advanced Mammalian Physiology and Advanced Exercise Physiology, and has mentored numerous undergraduate and graduate students studying integrative physiology.
