In July 2013, the University of Delaware suffered a data breach. To help protect those who may have been affected, the University contracted with Kroll to provide three years of credit monitoring and restoration services to affected members of the University community.

Even though most other organizations that have suffered a breach offer their clients or employees one year of credit monitoring, the University thought it important to offer credit monitoring for three years as an extra safeguard for the UD community. In addition, the University has used this three-year period to identify and pursue several initiatives to improve the security of its systems and the security awareness of its community members.

The end of this three-year service period is now approaching: Kroll’s monitoring contract with the University will expire on July 29, 2016.
