Opportunities

Are you interested in joining the lab? Depending on the posted opportunity, we do not require previous experience or specific training, just enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a passion for helping others. We have several types of opportunities available year-round. For more information about opportunities in our lab, please contact us at innovationlab@udel.edu

Graduate Assistantships

Dr. Hall offers paid graduate student assistantships each academic year.  Students interested in applying need to contact Dr. Hall for an application and to schedule an interest meeting.  Priority is given to graduate students in design, engineering, and/or health fields.

Undergraduate Researchers

Undergraduate research is available for academic credit every semester.  There is a minimum of 3 credits required, which is the equivalent of 10 hours/week during the semester.  To find out more information, please contact Dr. Hall to schedule an introductory meeting. Students will be selected to work on projects that match their interests and career goals.  Students may also design their own project upon approval. All undergraduate researchers are required to keep a project log and present at the end of the semester.

Summer/Winter Internships

Summer and Winter internships are offered every year.  Accepted students will be required to work 20 hours/week for part-time or 40 hours/ week. We are currently accepting applications for paid summer and winter Internships.  Students will be assigned a project with the mentorship of Dr. Hall.

ELEG Student Worker
There is an available position to be a part of the Vincera project in Dr. Martha Hall’s Innovation Health Design Lab. The goal of this project is to create a compressive device for soccer players who have experienced core muscle injuries. The Vincera institute is our partnering institution that performs operative surgery to repair core muscle injuries. The project entails the integration of sensor technology into a compressive device to measure performance ability in subjects, pre and post op. An applicant who has experience in electrical engineering and coding is preferred. Please email Jessica Smith at innovationlab@udel.edu if you are interested in this opportunity.

Volunteers

We always accept student and/or community volunteers.  Depending on the project, volunteers can work at the lab site or at home. We require all volunteers to commit to an average of 10 hours/week.
