The University of Delaware and the US Olympic Committee partnered up for a second year of the International Coaching Enrichment Certification Program (ICECP).
The program provided coaches with intensive education that consisted of lectures, projects, guest speakers, participant presentations, group work, field trips and project planning. It is funded by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Participants in ICECP are all national-level coaches in their home countries. The 2009 class represented 13 sports from 26 different nations.
Topics included sport nutrition, sport medicine, injury management and prevention, sport psychology and physiology, sport administration and coaching methods.
The program was conducted in partnership with the IOC Olympic Solidarity program, which provides financial assistance to national Olympic committees around the world.
