Mas Suave!

This week on Tuesday, I went with the group to a Flamenco dance class. Normally, this isn’t something I would be interested in, but after seeing an amazing performance last week, I was excited to give it a try. Things started off great when we couldn’t get in to the building to dance, and had to wait outside. Apparently, we were talking loud because an irate Spanish woman came to yell at us because we woke her up. We all had a laugh about how angry she was, and soon enough the doors were open and our class began. For the most part, none of us were very experienced or graceful, but I think we all had fun. The moves were fast and hard to remember, but I worked up quite a sweat trying to keep up. Our teacher also demonstrated the proper way to do things a few times, telling us things were “facil,” or to be “mas suave.” All in all, it was a great experience, and though I don’t think I’ll ever master the art, experiencing Flamenco dance first hand was a great opportunity.
