Research Interests

Generally speaking, my research interests focus on the interface of Chinese phonology and morphology, including prosody, syllable and stress. On the other hand, I'm interested in phonetics, especially the question of acoustic manifestation of tonal contrasts. I'm also interested in semantics and computational linguistics.

Specifically, I would like to address the question of the tendency of disyllabification in Mandarin Chinese. This tendency makes the PW in Mandarin much more difficult to be defined in an universal way. Besides, I'm highly excited about finding the cues for tonal contrasts and the zero onset effect displayed phonetically.
