“The Art of Being Alone” by Krista Webster

This winter session, I was bored.

I’m sure all those who didn’t study abroad, take classes on campus, or work some exciting job felt the same way. In my case, I ended up staying on campus. Unlike most people here, I didn’t take any classes– I was only here to help a professor with research. A few times a week I would go into the lab for an hour or two and help out, but besides that, I had no obligations. This left me with an incredible amount of free time to explore activities I had never had time for before. Continue reading

Around this time of the year I see a lot of parents with their children waiting in line for Santa at the mall. They usually fall into two categories: some are hysterically attempting to get the “perfect” picture of their little angel, while others are impatiently scrolling through emails and ignoring the screaming child at their feet.

“The Indecisive Undecided” by Krista Webster

For years, we’ve been bombarded by the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?” Some people have had their hearts set on being doctors since they were 5, while others struggle to find their main passion–the “undecideds.” The typical, more represented problem of the undecided major  is “I don’t know what I’m good at” or “I don’t know what I like.” But what about those of us who like too many things?
