Two opportunities at DelArt Musuem available for Museum Studies students
University Night: Call for Student Label Submissions
In alignment with our spring exhibition Marisol to Warhol: Printmaking and Creative Collaboration, we’re excited to partner with UD’s Art History Department to feature artist William T. Williams as our keynote speaker, in conversation with Julie L. McGee (May 1st, free to all UD students and faculty). Along with highlighting these two art scholars, we want to give a greater platform to students at this University Night by offering a call for student label submissions. Students have the opportunity to submit object labels for a selection of works included in Marisol to Warhol, and selected finalists will have their object labels displayed in-gallery alongside the artwork in the week leading up to and following University Night (April 30-May 11). This is a great opportunity for your students to engage in the fundamental curatorial practice of label writing and potentially have their contributions showcased in a museum setting.
Deadline to submit is March 31
Museum Educator Development Program
We’re currently accepting applications for our 2025-2026 Museum Educator cohort. Our Museum Educator Development Program is a 12-month program designed for early stage arts and culture professionals looking for more opportunities and direction in the field. Museum Educators (MEs) work closely with museum staff and collaborate with each other to design curricula, lead tours, and facilitate programming that aligns with DelArt’s education goals. Along with these primary responsibilities in museum education, MEs can gain added opportunities and exposure to the museum field by contributing to special projects, partnerships, and public programs in the Art & Learning Department. One of your undergraduate Museum Studies students Samuel Camissa is currently doing excellent work as a Museum Educator with us, leading tours and gallery programs as well as assisting our curatorial team on developing the miniature models we use for laying out and designing upcoming exhibitions. This program offers so much opportunity for development, support, and networking in the museum sector. Having gone through the program myself, I think it’s perfect for high-achieving undergraduate students like Sam and ideal for graduate students or recent post-graduates looking for an entry point into the museum field.
