Chair: Drew Higgins
COMMITTEE TOPIC:
Yemen Civil War and Sudanese Human Rights Violations
In this year’s HenMUN United Nations Security Council, we will be addressing two incredibly pertinent issues of concern to the greater global community: the bloody ongoing civil war in Yemen, and the human rights atrocities by state-sponsored militaries occurring in Darfur, Sudan. Delegates will need to use intellectual prowess and diplomatic maneuvering to yield peaceful resolutions for each conflict that can be adapted by the majority of the committee. Furthermore, delegates should be prepared to deal with changing circumstances as well as to navigate the personal political aims of their colleague nations. By the end of the committee weekend, the security council will have ideally found communal agreement with the other committee members in order to achieve the most successful policy response.
