Living Learning Community
First semester freshmen can apply for housing in the Pre-health Profession Living Learning Community (LLC). This LLC is sponsored by the Center for Health Profession Studies, and all students in this program share a common interest in healthcare. Good healthcare needs a medical team; students will learn from others who are pursuing a healthcare profession, e.g., students interested in medical school, dental school, physician assistant programs, nursing, physical therapy, medical laboratory science, etc.
A student mentor assigned to the LLC advises students, arranges guest speakers in the health professions, and organizes social events. Students will explore and learn more about various healthcare professions. Students in the LLC will have access to professionals with knowledge about standardized tests (e.g., MCAT). Acceptance into this LLC is competitive, and engaged, open-minded students will thrive in this in this program. Many of the events are open to all students even if they are not a part of this LLC.
