Students interested in medical and dental school are invited to attend a moderated, virtual panel discussion April 23rd from 1:30-3:30. Schools participating include Georgetown University School of Medicine, George Washington University School of Medicine, Howard University College of Dentistry, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, University of Maryland School of Dentistry, and University of Maryland School of Medicine, among others.
Want a chance to acquire about 75 hours shadowing physicians in Pavia, Italy? We are sponsoring a 3-week program January 2022. Students can learn about the European universal healthcare system and experience the Italian culture. Check back later for more details. Looking for a free and easy way to gain shadowing hours for medical school? We are aware of two programs.
HEAL is led by doctors and medical school students, accepted by medical schools, and offers real patient encounters. They are also extremely flexible, while live sessions are every Wednesday 8 pm EST recordings are posted up to two weeks for the free shadowing course. Prehealth Shadowing is an organization providing virtual shadowing experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students can get shadowing hours for health programs such as medical, nursing, dental, pharmaceutical, PA, PT, and other health programs. Visit their website for more information
Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) has planned a few virtual information sessions for the spring. These sessions are a great chance for prospective students to learn more about what SKMC looks for in an applicant as well as what a day in the life of an SKMC student is like. Student Recruitment Coordinators will lead a student panel and give interested applicants the chance to ask questions about SKMC or medical school in general. There will also be a presentation given by the director and dean of admissions that is more tailored to the application process.
The information sessions will be held via Zoom on the following dates and times:
