Drew uses digital images to analyze a bridge in Malawi, Africa!

This image of a community bridge in Malawi, Africa, was created by University of Delaware junior Drew Huffer using MATLAB computer software. He is using digital images of the bridge, loaded with people and bicycles, to analyze the integrity of the bridge, assess its capacity and inform future repair options. Drew Huffer, a junior from Williamsport, Maryland, is majoring in civil engineering and working as a project manager for the University of Delaware’s chapter of Engineers Without Borders.

Obayes receives scholarship to attend

Congratulations to Shaymaa Obayes (PhD student) who was selected to receive a scholarship to participate in the 2020 Planting Roots for the Future: A Short Course for Graduate Students and Postdocs scheduled August 16-21, 2020 at the Caribe Royale Resort in Florida! This workshop is co-sponsored by faculty at the University of Florida and University of Delaware. She is working on our UDRF-SI project titled, Dynamic Plant Monitoring to Inform Structural Models.

Timber and Aloqaily receive SEI Student Scholarships
