In addition to musical performances, the Graduate Percussion Group seeks opportunities to engage with the communities in and around Newark, Delaware. This ensemble has participated in many projects including:

  • Performed at “Music on the Patio” hosted by University of Delaware
  • Recording session at Parkville Sounds with the Steve Weiss media team
  • Finalist of the PASIC 2023 Chamber Competition

2023

  • Organized and facilitated intensive workshops which included the study of traditional Chinese Percussion with Jianpeng Feng (master teacher from Beijing)
  • Organized a food drive during the winter months called “Beets, Beats, and Eats”. This project culminated in a concert dedicated to fighting food insecurity and donations were delivered to the campus community service “Blue Hen Bounty”.
  • Commissioned, premiered, and recorded two new works titled Rauschen by New York composer Lila Meretzky.
  • Commissioned, premiered, and recorded two new works titled Everything I thought I Wanted by Philadelphia composer Robert Maggio 
  • Winner of the PASIC 2021 Chamber Competition
