2015 Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program

AREA OF STUDY: Graduate thesis research in areas of importance to the DOE Office of Science

AWARD: The SCGSR program supports supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to conduct part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE national laboratory in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist for a period of 3 to 12 consecutive months—with the goal of preparing graduate students for scientific and technical careers critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission.

AWARD: 10-week summer internship program for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (HS-STEM) Disciplines. Graduate students receive a $7,000 stipend plus travel expenses.

Foundation for Community Association Research Byron Hanke Fellowship Award: The Byron Hanke Fellowship is available to graduate students working on topics related to community associations. Community associations govern common-interest communities of any kind—condominiums, cooperatives, townhouse developments, planned unit developments, and other developments where homeowners support an association with mandatory financial assessments, and are subject to use and aesthetic restrictions. |

Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Summer Research Grant Award: The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) funds scholarships for deserving undergraduate, graduate and PhD students who need financial support to carry out their research during an academic break period. Any student with a meritorious project is invited to apply, but scholarships will be granted only to applicants who are student members of the IEEE CIS and students at the time the scholarship is awarded. |
