2015 Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program

AWARD: The SCGSR program supports supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to conduct part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE national laboratory in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist for a period of 3 to 12 consecutive months—with the goal of preparing graduate students for scientific and technical careers critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission.

Ford Foundation Pre-Doctoral Fellowship

Award: Predoctoral fellowships will be awarded in a national competition administered by the National Research Council (NRC) on behalf of the Ford Foundation. The Charles LeGeyt Fortescue Scholarship

Award: The scholarship carries a stipend of up to US$24,000 and is awarded for one year of full-time graduate work in electrical engineering at an engineering school of recognized standing located in the US. This scholarship is awarded annually. To be eligible, the student must be a permanent resident of the US, have majored in the field of electrical engineering, and have received a bachelor’s degree from an engineering college of recognized standing. The scholarship will be awarded to a first-year full-time graduate student only.

Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship

Award: Established in 1938 in honor of famed pilot and Zontian, Amelia Earhart, the Amelia Earhart Fellowship is awarded annually to women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences or aerospace-related engineering. The Fellowship of US$10,000, awarded to 35 Fellows around the globe each year, may be used at any university or college offering accredited post-graduate courses and degrees in these fields.
