2018 Italy Trip – Un’Avventura Sana (Adult Travel Program)

Program Overview:
You may have heard of the Mediterranean diet, but from a health and wellness standpoint, a Mediterranean “lifestyle” is likely the secret! The UD College of Health Science’s Center for Global Health invites you to experience “Un’avventura Sana” (A Healthy Adventure).
Join us as we explore much of Italy from Rome, to Florence to Capri and the Amalfi coast as well as Sienna and much more! Travelers will get a literal and figurative taste of the lifestyle. From walks around breathtaking countryside and heartwarming villages to art, architecture and culture that formed much of the western art and culture we know today. All of this accented by Italian cuisine rich with fresh vegetables, fruit, whole grains and heart-healthy fats, particularly olive oil and omega-3s from fish. Of course, no Italian meal would be complete without red wine (in moderation of course!) which may have heart health benefits and generally lower inflammation in the body as well. Vieni con noi (Come with us) and savor the sights, sounds, smells and sustenance of the country of Italy!
Program Details:
- 10 days, 9 nights
- Arrive on September 12, depart for home on September 21
- Staying in 3-4* hotels on the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento, in Florence, and then to Rome
- Highlights of the trip include: visiting the island of Capri, cooking class at the Villa Pandolfini Estate, touring Siena, a Chianti wine tour, touring the Roman Forum and Colosseum, visiting the Vatican, and experiencing the audience with the Pope.
Payment Info:
- Cost is 2850 euros per person based on double occupancy and includes hotel accommodations, transportation to group activities, breakfast, and activities noted on itinerary. Airfare is not included!
- Initial deposit of 1425 euros is due 2 weeks after application or no later than May 1, 2018.
- Final balance payment of 1425 euros (plus any additional tours & single room supplements ) is due no later than July 1, 2018
