Immersed In London, England

Submitted by Shawn Futch, Jr. on the 2019 winter session study abroad program in Ireland and London, England sponsored by the Department of Accounting and the Department of Finance…

I guess you could say I love London! Over this past week, I visited Piccadilly Circus, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Westminster Abbey as a sightseeing tourist. But I’ve also tried to immerse myself in settings such as Camden, Brick Lane, and Borough Markets as if I was a local. London is a place that reminds me of New York City in the sense that it’s a melting pot. There is so much culture in this city, and it has truly enriched my study abroad experience. Just walking down a street, you can hear many different languages in the background, smell so many different foods, and see so many different people. To me, that’s such a beautiful thing.
