Greece: Crete

Submitted by Nicole Anacay on the 2018 spring semester program in Athens, Greece sponsored by the College of Education & Human Development…

I spent about four days on the island Crete with most of my time spent in Chania. The town I stayed in was fairly small with few cars, and most people walked everywhere. I took a trip to Balos Beach on the sunniest day. It is a ten-minute drive to the base of the trail with the option of either driving up hill or hiking it. The hike was three hours and I was able to see much of the northern part of Crete. It was some of the clearest water I have ever seen in person and I could even see the tiny fish swimming.
