- PURPOSETo provide a uniform policy regarding the use of seat belts and shoulder harnesses and to increase the safety of the University community through the use of these devices.
- POLICYWhere provided, seat belts and shoulder harnesses shall be worn by drivers and passengers in University vehicles whenever the vehicle is in motion on public or private thoroughfares and roads.
Seat belts, shoulder harnesses or other safety restraints shall not be removed from University vehicles or made otherwise inoperative.
Supervisors are responsible for ensuring employees under their supervision comply with this policy.
