Apologies for the confusing nature of my title but it does setup the mood of my initial transit to Spain. After all Spain was 6 hours ahead of my time in New York’s JFK airport and as a result I had to wrap my head around this and prepare for the ensuring jet lag. I was not sure how I would handle it since I had never been on a plane for so long. Equally important, I had two flights to take within the span of 24 hours. The first one was exceedingly temperamental because it started with an airport gate change. Switching from Gate 7 to Gate 34 after already walking on the side where Gate 34 was really demonstrated what kind of day it would be. Then, when we finally boarded the plane after what felt like an eternity we began to wait for 5 minutes, then 10, then 30 until an hour passed and I still wasn’t sure if we would ever take off. Finally, the plane began the taxi process and we were able to get on our way. What a beginning to this life changing experience, only time will tell how the end will be.
