Facilities & Equipment
The Gait Biomechanics Lab is located in the Kinesiology and Applied Physiology Biomechanics Laboratory on the University of Delaware’s Science, Technology, and Advanced Research (STAR) campus. The lab has 12 high speed motion capture cameras (Qualisys), 3 in-ground force plates (AMTI), and a 16-channel wireless EMG system (Delsys) for capturing biomechanics and muscle activity during overground or treadmill gait. We also have a 15-sensor inertial measurement unit (IMU) system (Opal, APDM) that allows us to capture movement data outside the laboratory setting. An isokinetic dynamometer (Biodex) is located in an adjacent lab and can be used to measure muscle strength and power.
