Kianoosh is performing fundamental research in the physics of ocean waves and their influence on air-sea momentum and energy exchanges. He is also conducting innovative research to study the turbulence in the atmospheric wave boundary layer in high wind conditions. Kianoosh primary research interests include air-sea interactions, turbulence and mixing at free surfaces, turbulent boundary layer and airflow separation above surface waves, and breaking waves.
