Second Bridge Built with EIA
After the success in 2022, the team moved onto a second bridge project with EIA, now helping to serve a community in the Rio Fisculco community in the Kainacas province of Bolivia. This was a collaborative effort between the University of Delaware, University of Iowa and the University of Western Ontario. The bridge was completed in Mid-August and now helps to serve a community of 250 as well as commuting schoolchildren in the area.
2022
First Bridge Built with EIA
In the summer of 2022, a group of UD students worked through the spring semester, in collaboration with Georgia Tech and Eastern Mennonite University, to design a bridge for the Jatun Pampa community in Bolivia. The team traveled in early June and spent the summer building the bridge, which now serves the local community.

Malawi Team Partnered With Liti And Nkagula
In 2019, the Malawi project team reached out to yet another set of communities in Malawi: Liti and Nkagula. That August, EWB-UD members completed an assessment trip in these villages to identify locations for a water source and meet key community members.
2018
Philippines Team Completed Assessment
Between 2015 and 2018, the Philippines project team was hard at work laying the groundwork for their efforts in Ubujan. During this time, they embarked on three assessment trips which allowed them to foster a relationship with the community, assemble a Technical Advisory Board of experts in sustainable design and assesability.
Malawi Project Expanded To Chilimani
Immediately after the implementation project in Mphero, EWB-UD partnered with the nearby community of Chilimani. In the summer of 2018, we oversaw the construction of two borehole wells and handpumps, drastically improving access to water for over one thousand community members.
2016
Implementation In Mphero Completed
After two assessment trips to determine the best way to help the Mphero community of Malawi, our Malawi project team completed an implementation trip in August 2016. On this trip, EWB-UD members oversaw the drilling and installation of a borehole well and hand pump within the village limits of Mphero.
