First White Clay Cleanup of the Semester!

Sep 17, 2021 | ReachOut

With students finally back on campus for the fall 2021 semester, our ReachOut team, EWB-UD’s initiative to provide support to the greater Newark and Wilmington communities, is super excited to host events again! To kick off the semester, 13 student volunteers gathered at White Clay Creek State Park to remove invasive species on our very own adopted trail. Ripping plants from the ground is a tough but rewarding way to blow off some steam and help native plants thrive. Our volunteers primarily focused on Japanese Stilt Grass, Oriental Bittersweet, and Multiflora Rose:

Thanks to the ReachOut team for planning this event,  all of our volunteers for their hard work, and to White Clay Creek State Park for hosting us! The ReachOut team will continue hosting events all semester, including but not limited to more invasive removal. If you are not already on our email list, contact us to be added and learn about more upcoming events!
