When showcasing your work in a discipline that requires extensive use of images, consider using Table or Layout in your Google Site. Using these features can enhance the look of your portfolio’s pages. You will still want to use the basic feature of inserting an image where you place the cursor on your page, but these ideas will give you a few more options.

When you are editing a page, you can find the Table and Layout options just above the editing toolbar. Here are a few examples:

One column (simple) layout using the basic Insert Image option

One Column Layout image with text

One column (simple) layout using multiple images in a row with or without a table

One column layout multiple images with or without use of table

The first set of images does not use a table. If you need to write a caption or description for each image, you can add a table to your page. The second set of images uses a table with two rows, one row for the images, another to add a caption for each image.

Two-column layout including a table

Remember that when you use a table, you can add an extra row or column to help you format a description or reference to your image.

Three column (simple) layout

This is useful when you have a sequence to show (i.e. before, during, and after).

Three column layout

Similar to the three column (simple) layout, this can be useful when you have a sequence to show (i.e. before, during, and after).

Notice that the big difference between the two three column examples is that, in the three column layout,  you have two sections, one above and one below the three columns (areas in red), which can be treated like a one column page, allowing you to include text, images, tables, or whatever content is needed to complete your page. On the three column (simple) layout, any additional content added is restricted to the column it is entered in.
