Dr. Karen Asenavage

Associate Director, Director of Academic Programs

Dr. Karen Asenavage joined the ELI in February 2011. She is primarily responsible for program and curriculum development including supervision and professional development of instructors.

Karen has worked in administrative and teaching positions at Yale, University of Pennsylvania, and higher education institutions in the United Arab Emirates; each included working with second language learners, international teaching assistants (ITAs) and with STEM programming. She has developed and delivered teacher training in the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Guatemala, and the United States.

Karen received her BA in Biology and Chemistry from Messiah College; her MA TESOL is from Ball State University. She is certified in the state of Indiana as a secondary teacher in Biology, Chemistry, and All-Grade ESL. Karen also holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership with a Higher Education focus at Eastern University.
