Carrie Neely joined the ELI in June of 2009, having previously taught ESL to elementary and middle school students in Pennsylvania as well as English Literature and Spanish to high school students. In addition to teaching, she wrote curriculum for the ESL program and for all classes that she taught. Carrie earned her BA in Spanish from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia in 1996. She then earned her MA TESOL from West Chester University. During her stay with the ELI, Carrie has taught both general and EAP courses. She recently developed a course based on teaching English through modern fiction and plans to incorporate author visits into her classes at the ELI.
When not at the ELI, Carrie enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys, traveling, writing fiction, taking walks, reading mysteries (a guilty pleasure), cooking, gardening…and the list goes on. She has the best of both worlds: a family she loves and a job she loves coming to every morning.
