Ana Kim

Ana Kim joined the English Language Institute in 2008. She holds an MA in Linguistics from the University of Colorado – Boulder and has a graduate certificate in TESOL. Ms. Kim has published and given a number of presentations both locally and nationally, including the TESOL International Convention. Her current research interests are student perspectives in writing activities.

Ms. Kim has taught English as a Second Language in a broad range of levels and was a Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) Functional Writing Assessor for the Colorado Department of Education. At the ELI, she currently serves as the GEN V coordinator, working with instructors to provide a foundation in the areas of reading, writing, and grammar at the advanced level.

Ms. Kim has also worked as an Academic Coordinator for teacher training and special groups, notable programs including the Hunan Normal University MA TESL Dual Degree Program, Panamá Bilingüe, Hankuk University, and more.

Within the broader University community, Ms. Kim was appointed as a member of the Fulbright National Screening Committee sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education for three years. She has continued to serve in this capacity by giving workshops to prospective candidates from UD on how to prepare for the campus interview and is also a member of the Fulbright Campus Search Committee for UD. Additionally, Ms. Kim is the Chair of the International Caucus, which seeks to support and contribute to a globally-oriented university community.

Ms. Kim has served as a coordinator for the National Peace Essay Contest, part of the United States Institute of Peace. She participates as a judge for the National Speech & Debate Association as well.
