How to dress up for Halloween!

October 23, 2018

Every October, children–and many adults–in the U.S. prepare to dress up and eat candy!

Halloween, an annual tradition with deep roots, is celebrated on October 31. Halloween emerged from an ancient Celtic festival that marked the end of the summer and the beginning of the cold, dark winter. For many, many years, people believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth that night.

Today, most people in the U.S. who celebrate Halloween do not believe in the superstitions and the holiday has become community centered, with parades, parties and events.

We are celebrating Halloween at the ELI with a Session 2 meet and greet Halloween party!

Join us at 189 West Main Street, 1-4 p.m. on October 31 (that’s a Wednesday, not a Friday). There will be fun contests, tasty fall foods and apple cider to drink!

If you have never experiences Halloween before, you are probably wondering what to wear!

One of the great traditions of Halloween is to dress up. You can dress like something scary, some sparkly or something silly.
