Fatimah Conley, Esq.
Vice President of Equity and Chief Diversity Officer
Fatimah Conley, Esq., serves as the University of Delaware’s Vice President of Equity and Chief Diversity Officer. Fatimah joined the university’s Office of Institutional Equity in 2015 and joined the Office of the General Counsel in 2016. She also served as the university’s Interim Title IX Coordinator and Director of OIE in 2018. In her current role, she serves on President Assanis’s leadership team, and is the senior advisor to the President on matters of equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice, and she leads the university’s Office of Institutional Equity.
Equal rights, diversity and inclusion has always been a driver in Fatimah’s life, both personally and professionally. A native Hoosier, she moved to New Orleans and attended Tulane Law School when Hurricane Katrina hit. Fatimah remained in New Orleans after graduation and worked as an associate at Davillier Law Group, LLC. Her practice was focused on representing Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in complex business transactions, labor and employment matters and state and federal economic development opportunities for communities most affected by the hurricane’s devastation. Fatimah was an advocate for equitable education and was a founding member of the New Orleans College Preparatory Academy, a charter school focused on preparing low-income, minority students with academic and life skills for success in college, career and beyond.
Fatimah currently lives in Wilmington, DE and is a member of the board of the Christina Cultural Arts Center, the board of the Charter School of Wilmington, the Louisiana Bar Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She is currently pursuing her MBA in UD’s Lerner College of Business and Economics.
