Compassion Fatigue / Burnout Prevention Training

DMRC Mission Statement

To serve the state of Delaware by establishing, implementing, and sustaining Delaware’s reserve units of medical and non-medical volunteers to strengthen the public health infrastructure, improve emergency preparedness response, and increase community resilience in Delaware.

Compassion Fatigue / Burnout Prevention Trainings are recommended for all DMRC volunteers. These have been offered in person and virtually for volunteers, and there are a number of trainings available online.

Finding Respite In a Whirlpool: Wellbeing During Trying Times & Beyond was conducted January 27, 2021 by Stacey M. Boyer, PsyD. This virtual training highlighted five elements for your before, during, and after work plan to prevent burnout and fatigue. Stacey summarizes these for us here: https://sites.udel.edu/delawaremrc/finding-respite-in-a-whirlpool/
