Dr. Tara Gaab, VMD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences at the University of Delaware where she teaches courses such as Introduction to Equine Science, Functional Anatomy, Equine Disease and Lameness and Animal Behavior. She has a B.S. in Animal Science from Pennsylvania State University and completed her veterinary degree at the University of Pennsylvania. She came to UD from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine where she did her Residency in the Food Animal Field Service at New Bolton Center. She holds active licenses to practice veterinary medicine in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland and is a member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners the American Association of Swine Veterinarians and the Dairy Cattle Welfare Council. Her interests include preventative care and husbandry practices of dairy and beef cattle, small ruminants, equids, camelids and swine and animal welfare and compliance with university and commercial standards in dairy and beef cattle, small ruminants, equids, camelids and swine.
