Who is a Research Software Engineer (RSE)?

Screenshot 2025-02-05 at 2.21.41 PM

Someone who combines software development skills with an understanding of research methodologies. The RSE works closely with domain scientists (or is a part of the domain team), gaining an understanding of the problems they face, and then develops, maintains and extends software to provide answers to the problems.
