OUR CLINICIANS
Our outstanding team of skilled Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists includes 23 part-time and 2 full-time clinicians.  All of our clinicians are Delaware- licensed and possess their Certification of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.    This dynamic team includes Board Recognized Specialists in Swallowing, Child Language, Voice, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication.  Our SLPs and Audiologists come from diverse clinical backgrounds and share their passion for practice with our clients and students in their individualized areas of expertise.

OUR CLIENTS

The UD Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic has served over 500 members of the community and provided over 6,500 hours of clinical service to clients across the lifespan.  Our clinic provides a wide range of services, including screenings, full assessments, individual and group therapy, and intensive therapy opportunities.  Areas of expertise include articulation, augmentative and alternative communication, cognition, fluency, hearing, language, social communication, swallowing, and voice and resonance.  Our clients are the center of our care model, which includes comprehensive services, collaboration, and creative approaches to achieving goals.

OUR CLINIC
Located in the state-of-the-art STAR Health Complex on the University of Delaware campus, the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic has 6 treatment rooms and one large group treatment area.  Additionally, a wide range of hearing diagnostic services are available in our audiology suite.  The Materials Room at the SLH Clinic includes the latest diagnostic and treatment tools and these materials are available as a resource to local Speech Pathologists.  Our Voice Suite includes cutting-edge technology to assess and treat voice and resonance disorders.

Our evaluation and treatment sessions are individually-tailored, using the client and family’s preferences, the latest evidence-based practice guidelines, and our extensive clinical experience.

Our skilled team will work with you to develop a plan of care that meets your needs.  We encourage interested clients to schedule an appointment at our            state-of-the-art clinic.

Evidence-Based Practice

The UD SLH Clinic exists to train students on how to translate cutting-edge research into practice and practice into the next great research findings.  Our Clinic is the ONLY University Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic nationally to participate in data tracking for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association National Outcomes Measurement System.

Community Outreach

Our Clinic is dedicated to maximizing quality of life by collaborating with the community.  See the CSCD Department website for current opportunities to get involved in community groups with the Communication Sciences and Disorders program.

We are conveniently located on the University of Delaware’s STAR Campus at 540 South College Ave, Suite 102, Newark, DE 19713.

From I-95: Take exit 1B-Rt. 896 to Newark. This turns into South College Avenue. Continue approximately 1.5 miles and 540 S. College Avenue is located on your left. Patient parking is available.

From Main Street/Rt 273: From East Main, turn left onto South College. Continue approximately 1 mile and our building (540 S. College) will be on your right.

Student Involvement

Educating the next generation of clinicians in the heart of our clinic’s mission.  Graduate students have the opportunity to collaborate with our highly experienced Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists within the context of the clinic.  Our credentialed clinicians work alongside graduate student clinicians at all times to ensure a high quality, rich experience for each client and student.
