The University of Delaware uses and encourages official use of the following social media networks: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, WordPress and Tumblr.
Strategic use of social media can amplify both outward- and inward-facing messaging and therefore better position the university as a world-class learning institution.
To follow officially branded UD social media accounts, go to the UD Social Media Portal.
All social media account requests will be considered two times in an academic year. Deadline for fall social media account requests is Nov. 1, and deadline for spring social media account requests is March 1. To make an account request, please fill out this form and include a sample content calendar.
Requests are reviewed by the Digital Content Manager as well as a Social Media Steering Committee. Once content and branding is approved, units work with their college’s communications professional to manage the account. Staff is encouraged to use UD’s Hootsuite Enterprise system to manage all social media content.
In the case of an account denial, CPA will work with the unit/organization to implement a social media strategy using existing UD social media channels.
How to Submit Content
Units are encouraged to use the social media content submission form in order to amplify messaging. CPA will consider all content, but does not guarantee that all submissions will be posted to brand channels.
