The links below are for employees purchasing for their departments, colleges and administrative units and paying for with institutional funds only.

Student, staff, and faculty purchases for personal use should follow the instructions on the Buy Personal page.

Hardware

If you need to purchase a computer, connect with your department’s IT Pro for the correct computer specifications and hardware standards in place at UD.

If you do not have a department IT Pro, go to the UD Exchange eProcurement system and get started by clicking the “Technology Hardware/Software – Faculty-Staff” tile in the Catalog & Forms Showcase.

Select the “Purchase Computer Equipment” option.

The tile connects to the UD Request Computer Equipment Purchase, which will provide the appropriate guidance, review and recommendations needed prior to making a computer technology purchase.

The Purchase Computer Equipment process should be completed before purchasing or submitting a Purchase Order (PO) requisition.


The University of Delaware has a purchasing agreement with Apple for academic pricing of their computer hardware and peripheral products.

Dell Computers

The University of Delaware has a purchasing agreement with Dell for academic pricing on most of their computer hardware and peripheral products.

Central IT has worked with Dell to configure the systems & monitors under the Recommended Configurations section of the Dell Premier website, and strongly recommends those products for institutional use. Go to the UD Exchange eProcurement portal and choose the Dell catalog to view the Recommended Configurations and other products.


 

Software

If you need to purchase a technology solution, including renewals or changes to an existing contract, go to the UD Exchange eProcurement system, and get started by clicking the “Technology Hardware/Software – Faculty-Staff” tile in the Catalog & Forms Showcase.

Select the “Purchase a New Tech Solution” option.

The tile connects to the UDIT Technology Request, which will provide the appropriate guidance, review and recommendations needed prior to making a technology purchase.

The Technology Request process should be completed before purchasing or submitting a Purchase Order (PO) requisition.


The University of Delaware has signed an Adobe Term Site Licensing (TSL) agreement to allow Adobe Acrobat Professional to be installed on all University-owned computers at no additional charge to the department. For information and to download Adobe Acrobat Professional go to the UDeploy Software Site.

To get pricing Adobe on software titles other than Acrobat, contact the IT Support Center.

Products are for institutional use only and may not be acquired by individuals. However, there is a provision for installing one copy of the product on either a home or portable computer. You may not run the the software simultaneously on both the home and work computers. For details on eligibility and restrictions on this provision, see the Use Adobe products at work and home page at Adobe.

The University of Delaware has signed a Microsoft Campus Agreement to allow select Microsoft software titles to be installed on all University-owned computers at no additional charge to the department.

The current Microsoft agreement includes:

  • An upgrade license for Windows Enterprise Edition.
  • Licenses for Microsoft Office Professional Plus and Office 365.
  • Licenses for the Enterprise CAL Suite.

These Microsoft product licenses allow the software to be installed on all University-owned computers. However, there is a “work-at-home” provision for installation on personal machines for work-related purposes only.

For all other Microsoft software, the Microsoft Select Plus Licensing Program gives University departments access to most Microsoft software titles at significant savings over retail pricing. For pricing and details, contact the UD IT Support Center.

On The Hub eStore

University has an agreement with On The Hub eStore under which University departments may purchase popular software titles. Check the restrictions on software purchases before buying. In some cases, purchase is limited to academic (non-administrative) use only. Click the On The Hub eStore logo above to link to an online web store where you can order and download these products online.
