Denee Crumrine, a 2010 grad, used her internship experience to grab a job as a Communications Specialist.
Many recent and soon-to-be grads have one thing on their minds – the job market (or lack thereof)! Denee Crumrine, a 2010 graduate of the UD Comm department, learned that experience and perseverance really pay off in this economy.
Shortly after graduation, Denee accepted an internship with The Archer Group, an interactive marketing agency in Wilmington. A lot of grads might be hesitant to take a position as an intern after graduating, but Denee saw it as a chance to gain experience that would help her in the long run. And help it did – with a recommendation from the CEO of Archer, Denee landed a job with the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce in December.
As the Program and Communications Specialist with the Chamber of Commerce, Denee is involved in event planning, social media, public relations and many other facets of communication. In the short time that she has been working with the Chamber of Commerce, Denee has been able to put her communication skills to use and learn countless new ones. She expects to continue learning and is looking forward to where this job takes her.
