The class will offer an opportunity for students to explore the realms of martial arts dating back 1500 years ago to the founding of the Shaolin Temple. What was once considered a brutal means of self-defense, martial arts have, throughout the years, evolved into a system of philosophy and aesthetics through which human beings express themselves.
Here, you will experience the rudimentary elements of Shaolin martial arts, which encompass techniques ranging from grappling to striking. Students will learn not only the aesthetical and philosophical expressions of Chinese kungfu, but also derive from it practical means of self-defense and self-expression.
Through training, one may truly come to peace with one’s existence, while developing the necessary mental and physical capacities to help others.
