The Confucius Institute (UDCI) and the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) presented a spectacular Chinese New Year Gala to celebrate the Year of the Dog at Mitchell Hall on Saturday evening February 17th. Many distinguished guests joined the event despite the snowfall in the evening. Among the guests are Delaware Senator Tom Carper, Governor John Carney, UD President Assanis and Mrs. Assanis, Interim Provost Robin Morgan and her husband, special representative for Senator Chris Coons (Mr. Andrew Dinsmore), New Castle County Executive Matthew Meyer.
This year’s program featured a rich variety of cultural performances. It was highly praised by the VIP guests and the audience as “the best” they have seen over the years.
